Chris and Sheri

I was so excited when my friend Melanie asked me if I'd like to shoot a wedding with her.  I happily accepted and a few weeks ago we met up with Chris and Sheri. This young couple seemed so happy and ready to get hitched. I doubt they would have been so relaxed had they known then the impact Igor would have on their big day.

Igor started their wedding week off with a bang!!  You know, the tropical depression to hit our non-tropical island!! So many terrible things happened to people, communities and highways, it is hard to believe it was only a little over a week ago.

Sheri's parents, who live on the Burin peninsula, almost didn't make their daughter's wedding, the road leading from there was impassable.  To add insult to injury, the highway through Terra Nova national park was washed out which played havoc with Chris's dad, brother and family.   They travelled from Cape Breton by ferry and had to take that route to get to the wedding.  It seemed the odds were against Chris and Sheri but with the help from God, many prayers and her sister Angie calling in a huge favor by means of helicopter ride, the wedding went ahead full force.  Even the rain didn't damper the spirits of these fun loving adventurers.  Bless you both and all your family and congratulations to you as you begin your wonderful and exciting journey of marriage.  There is no doubt that you will stand the test of time with all the love and support that surrounds you.
Here are a few photos from their special day.
