Change

Life in is a constant state of change.  The fashions, the weather, your neighbors, your friends, your job.  So many changes happen to us every day that we aren't even aware of!!  So why is it we fight change so much?  Why do we hang on to old habits and ways of thinking that we sometimes can't think outside the box.  Supposedly, we are the intelligent beings but why then do we we fight things around us that we have no control over?  Why do we doubt making positive changes in our lives?  Decisions that might lead to something wonderful!!  Animals adapt and learn and get by.  But most of us want things to stay just the way they are.  Like many of us I am a creature of habit too.  I find something I like and I like to stick with it.  Is it fear that stops us sometimes dead in our tracks, is it lack of confidence?  Do we owe it to ourselves to take a chance?

There have been a lot of recent changes in my life and I expect there will always be.  Some things that happened were not so great and some were pretty darn good.   Life won't always warn you what's about to happen but you have to adapt, live it and do things that make you happy.  You have to try new things even if it means you might fail.  But what if...you succeed?  What if you take a chance, make a change and something extraordinary happens?  What then?

My gang

It's not often my gang lets me make a photo of them.  In fact, there is usually a little persuading involved, shouting, threats etc. ;) but here are my children in my photos!!  Imagine, who'd have thunk it possible!!  Some photos were the result of enjoying my Christmas toys; my soft box constant lights system and my backlight and some shots I just wanted of my children before they are grown and have kiddies of their own.  Time moves along at a constant and waits for no one.

Life doesn't always allow you the luxury of doing what you love but somehow you have to try and make it work.  Sometimes it takes us a while to figure out what it is we love; that something that takes us away from the stresses of everyday life and gives us the most pleasure.  While my children will always be my number one, it's nice to have something that is mine.  Here are my children, who sadly are growing up on me, the loves of my life!

Home for a visit

This is a large post so I'll apologize in advance!  But how can I not share as much as I possibly can from my great weekend visiting my hometown.  Even though we live on the East coast of Newfoundland, Canada, surrounded by the cold Atlantic ocean, we have sun, surf and a whole lotta wonderful places to see.  These are just a mere sample of the beauty that surrounds my little community.

I had the added bonus of going on a an impromptu photowalk with a wonderful friend who also shares an enthusiasm for photography.  I was so happy because I've been thinking of trying to organize such a walk and this sort of just fell into our lap!!  It was lots of fun!!

Overall, I had a great weekend!  I got to spent time with my parents and to see many family and friends I haven't seen in quite some time.  And I took a few (hundred) pics! :)
