Chasing the weather

It called for showers in the morning on Friday and we thought we'd have to cancel our photo session.  So how delighted were we to see sun at 9:30 am on Saturday!!!  We went ahead and 'yes' we would meet at the chosen time and location!  About five minutes before we were supposed to meet, the sky opened.  I mean, it rained cats and dogs!!  I thought it was a sun shower because the sky in my back window was gorgeous blue, but my front window told a different story!!  There was a menacing gray cloud hovering over the very spot that my session was supposed to be!  I tried to call Ann-Marie but they had already left.  So I got in my car and left too still hoping for my sun shower theory!  We met up, disappointed because it was still raining.  After calling my husband to check the weather where he was and calling her mom to check the other direction, we decided to head east, hoping to drive out of the weather.  They followed me and when I hit sun, I parked the car, not far, ironically from our original location!  The day did not disappoint after that!!  We made the most of the vibrant colors the wet and colorful trail offered us and had a blast doing it!!  This great family was full of energy and laughs and was so much fun to shoot!!  From silly expressions, to jumping puddles, the day turned around and we had a great session after all.

Little J

This sweet little blue eyed cutie pie was my subject last Sunday as the weekend continued to be fabulous!!  With her mom and aunt Leen in tow, we explored  their wonderful backyard mini trail.  This little nature lover was so cute and curious.  Inspired by her wonderful mom, who was always encouraging her daughter to explore and enjoy the beauty that surrounds her, we meandered through the little trail finding moose tracks, trees and even an abandoned birds nest.  Another little blue eyed handsome boy joined us on our adventure too!!  Here are some of the fun that was captured last Sunday.

The Lake family

Fall is a beautiful time of year with its rich and vibrant colors.  Even though winter is just around the corner, fall's beauty surrounds us every day as leaves change colors before our eyes and become forest jewels.  Saturday was no exception and I couldn't have asked for a more glorious day.  It was warm and sunny and I met up with a family at the ever beautiful, Manuel's river.

Hurricane Igor, unfortunately, did a fair share of damage to the lower trail but the upper trail was in pretty good condition.  We came across some fallen trees but it was not damaged too badly.

I met up with Chris, his wife and children to take some photos.  My husband and Chris work together and although I hadn't met him, I heard lots about him!   This great family were so sweet, I immediately found myself at ease with the whole gang!!  We had a lot of fun and had a great nature walk as well.  I had never been to the end of the trail and it was a treat!!  If you ever get a chance you should definitely check it out.

When I look through some of these photos it reminds me of the story Hansel and Gretel as the children make they way through the forest to find the cottage made of sugary treats.

So, the day was a great success and I made some new friends, which is always a bonus!!

The Bussey's

Last Sunday was sunny, warm and a fantastic day to meet up with an old friend of mine and her family.  I hope my luck with the weather continues with my upcoming sessions.

Sherry and I worked together at the Grace Hospital.  It was a great group of staff there and I miss it sometimes still today.  It was a very heavy and busy unit most of the time but we always helped each other out and had fun doing it!!

While I've known Sherry for many years and attended her wedding, it was great to meet her sweet family.  At first everyone was a little shy and stiff but we soon had a great time climbing trees, hanging out under them and rolling in the grass (literally, I don't know how they let me in Sobey's after the shoot!!) I had a super fun time hanging with this lovely family in their own backyard haven. Enjoy!!
