Chase in a tub

Check out sweet little Chase!  I've had the pleasure of seeing him quite a few times over the last year and he keeps getting more adorable if that's possible!!

Amanda wanted some pics of Chase in a tub for a continuing tradition of grandbabies in tubs for her parents!  What a great idea!!

He was not a big fan of the tub that day but we still managed to capture a few sweet little shots of him exploring the grass and things around him.  And when he got tired of it all, Mom and Dad came to the rescue and made him happy again!!

Sugar and Spice and everything nice

What are little girls made of?  Sugar?  Spice?  I have taken a few photos lately and I have seen lots of sweet little girls (and boys I'm not leaving you all out).  There is always one or two of them who are, what I would call,  a mini-me!  You know what I'm talking about.  They look or behave so much like their parent it is remarkable.  I, however, do not have a mini-me with either of my children.  Yes, I carried them and I am half them but they both look like their dad.  That's not a bad thing but I would have liked an ounce of me in them.  Just a smidgen, a morsel, something...ANYTHING!!! :)

So again, I had a session last week with two darling little girls.   Both of whom were very different from each other but who each had 'mom' in them in some form.  One was soft and sweet and posed when I wanted.  The other one was boundless energy, fearless fun and a little bit rascally!  So, what are little girls made of?  Sugar and spice and most definitely, everything nice.  Here are some shots from our day.

Ella and Emily

This week has been a great bit of fun for me. Quite busy, but lots of fun!!  I attended my Nephew's lovely wedding this past Saturday (camera in hand of course), went on another great photo walk with my friend Marsha (see previous photo walk),  and had a great fun-in-the-sun session with Ella and Emily!  Today I am posting a few photos from Wednesday's session in Bowring park.

The day was bright and sunny and absolutely gorgeous!  These sweet little ladies were my subjects as we headed to Bowring Park.  Their mom Kelly and I worked together many years ago at the Grace Hospital.  It was so nice to see her again and to meet her beautiful daughters.  Some people just have that natural, fun loving way about them and Kelly is like that.  She is still the funny and even tempered gal I remember and her two girls were a delight to shoot.

Time with Carter

Here are a couple of shots taken mid July at Neil's pond.  It was the most perfect evening. It was hot, sunny and still.  Keely was busy and Carter was bored.  So he and I decided to go for a little walk with the dog hoping to cool down and have a swim.

We found a sunny spot and I looked on (and snapped) as Carter enjoyed a peaceful splash in the pond. We saw ducks and a beautiful tiny dragonfly that I managed to capture, photographically speaking of course ;).

Summer fun continues

Summer seems to be slipping away from us so fast!  I can't believe it's August already.  I am so enjoying the little things that summer has to offer, like not having to pack lunches, carefree days without homework, late nights and sleeping in.  Ah, how I will miss you summer, as the long days turn to short, cool evenings.  However, for now I am focusing on what's left of summer- more sun, backyard fires, visiting family, and being grateful for all that is good in our lives.  In my previous post I left out two very important people, my dad and my only living grandparent, my nan Greta.

This is a preset I created in lightroom called Caribbean glow.

Home for a visit

This is a large post so I'll apologize in advance!  But how can I not share as much as I possibly can from my great weekend visiting my hometown.  Even though we live on the East coast of Newfoundland, Canada, surrounded by the cold Atlantic ocean, we have sun, surf and a whole lotta wonderful places to see.  These are just a mere sample of the beauty that surrounds my little community.

I had the added bonus of going on a an impromptu photowalk with a wonderful friend who also shares an enthusiasm for photography.  I was so happy because I've been thinking of trying to organize such a walk and this sort of just fell into our lap!!  It was lots of fun!!

Overall, I had a great weekend!  I got to spent time with my parents and to see many family and friends I haven't seen in quite some time.  And I took a few (hundred) pics! :)
